About the Job
Job Posting: Production Supervisor.
Aegis Industrial Finishing  |  Surrey, BC.

Full-Time  •  Hourly  •  $35 – $45/hr depending on experience.

About Aegis Industrial Finishing:
Aegis Industrial Finishing is a BC-based custom powder coating and sandblasting company with sixteen years of history and three generations of family expertise in metal finishing. We work with engineers, fabricators, and project managers across industrial, marine, architectural, and commercial sectors.

We don’t compete on price. We compete on communication, quality, and integration with our customers’ workflows — and we hire people who hold that same standard.

Why Join Aegis?
  • Build something that lasts. Aegis is growing intentionally — building the systems and team that will carry us forward. Your leadership will have a real, visible impact on how we operate.
  • Grow with us. For the right person, this role is a stepping stone toward a Production Manager position. Growth is earned, not promised — but we invest in people who invest in us.
  • A team worth leading. You’ll join a company that takes its culture seriously — one where wins are celebrated, hard days are worked through together, and people are treated with respect.
  • Competitive compensation. $35 – $45/hr depending on experience, with a clear path to expanded responsibility. Extended benefits and perks upon completion of probationary period.

About the Role:
As our Production Supervisor, you’ll lead a dedicated production team across blasting, coating, QC, and shipping — both shifts, every day. You’ll be the bridge between the leadership team and the shop floor: keeping communication clear, holding the standard, and building a team that improves on purpose rather than by accident.

We’re not looking for someone who already knows everything about powder coating. We’re looking for someone who leads well, communicates clearly, and is genuinely eager to learn the technical side of what we do. Cultural fit comes first at Aegis — the rest can be taught.

What You’ll Do:
  • Lead, support, and inspire production staff across both shifts to meet daily targets while maintaining a positive, respectful culture.
  • Run daily huddles to align the team on priorities, safety updates, and production targets.
  • Own the handoff between shifts — information doesn’t fall through the cracks on your watch.
  • Train and coach team members on SOPs, quality standards, and safety — and actively develop their skills over time.
  • Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks, and coordinate resources to keep production moving.
  • Enforce SOPs, quality requirements, and safety standards consistently — on every shift, not just when leadership is watching.
  • Track key production metrics and report weekly to the leadership team.
  • Oversee the preventative maintenance program: scheduling, completion, and record-keeping.
  • Over time, take day-to-day ownership of Aegis’s continuous-improvement cadence — identifying the next improvement before the current one is finished.

What We’re Looking For:
Skills and experience matter, but culture is our primary screen. We look for people who live our five Core Values:
  • Invest in Excellence — you raise the standard of what “done” means, and you spend time teaching rather than just fixing things yourself.
  • Think it Simple — you prefer a clear, repeatable process over a clever workaround, and you ask “why do we do it this way?” before proposing change.
  • Play for Others — you communicate proactively, take responsibility for the handoff — not just your task — and give the team credit when things go well.
  • Care Down the Road — you make decisions with the customer’s end use in mind and refuse to ship work that looks fine but isn’t right.
  • Sound the Shield — you notice and celebrate wins, build a team culture where hard days are worked through, and don’t confuse stoicism with professionalism.

What You Bring:
  • At least 2–3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience, ideally in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills — you build trust with diverse teams and keep information flowing clearly between the floor and the office.
  • A genuine eagerness to learn the technical side of powder coating and sandblasting operations and equipment — prior experience is an asset, not a requirement.
  • A track record of improving processes, not just maintaining them.
  • Highly organized and adaptable — able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
  • Comfort with standard production tools: ERP systems, Microsoft Teams, and Office 365.
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and doing the job right the first time.

Core Competencies:
  • Communication: Listens actively, shares information clearly, and ensures nothing is lost between shifts or departments.
  • Positive Leadership: Inspires and motivates through encouragement and respect — holds the line without leading through fear.
  • Training & Development: Invests in team growth through clear instruction, ongoing coaching, and genuine interest in others’ success.
  • Reliability: Follows through on commitments and models the professional standard expected of the team.
  • Continuous Improvement: Seeks opportunities to simplify and strengthen — does not wait to be told what to improve.

Ready to Lead with Aegis?
If you’re a strong leader who communicates well, holds a high standard, and is eager to grow with a company that takes quality and culture seriously — we want to hear from you.

Tell us about a time you improved a process, held a team to a standard, or turned a difficult situation into a better system. That’s the kind of story we’re looking for.
